Salton Sea Revisited 5m Envelope
Salton Sea Revisited 5m Envelope from Xárene on Vimeo.
Audio:
Drawing inspiration from Jean-Claude Risset's Sud and Luc Ferrari's Presque Rien N°1, Le Lever Du Jour Au Bord La Mer, the piece begins with a dialog between the environment: the waves, the bleached barnacle beach, the train, the birds. The envelope of the composition follows the envelope of the aural activity of the day and the patterns of the birds which tend to be noisiest at dawn and dusk with a calm in mid-day.
Video:
The video was shot between 6 and 9am on 6 March 2012. The final version will be dawn to dusk with a 24-hour epic to follow.

Tilt–shift photography - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Tilt–shift photography is the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras, and sometimes specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene. Sometimes the term is used when the shallow depth of field is simulated with digital post-processing; the name may derive from the tilt–shift lens normally required when the effect is produced optically. Full Moon Silhouettes
Full Moon Silhouettes from Mark Gee on Vimeo.
Full Moon Silhouettes is a real time video of the moon rising over the Mount Victoria Lookout in Wellington, New Zealand. People had gathered up there this night to get the best view possible of the moon rising. I captured the video from 2.1km away on the other side of the city. It's something that I've been wanting to photograph for a long time now, and a lot of planning and failed attempts had taken place. Finally, during moon rise on the 28th January 2013, everything fell into place and I got my footage.
The video is as it came off the memory card and there has been no manipulation whatsoever. Technically it was quite a challenge to get the final result. I shot it on a Canon ID MkIV in video mode with a Canon EF 500mm f/4L and a Canon 2x extender II, giving me the equivalent focal length of 1300mm.

CATERPILLAR
Video of the Day: CATERPILLAR from David Field on Vimeo.
Finding your way can mean losing your mind in the process…
An isolated elderly woman, in desperate need of stimulation, conjures an infestation of silk-spinning caterpillars, thus leading her to a mind-bending epiphany.
‘Caterpillar’ is a cerebral drama, filmed in the historical Wynkoop House, famous for housing George Washington. The crew consists of highly esteemed artists working across a wide spectrum of disciplines. This includes special effects artist, Ben Bornstein (300, The Fighter), visual effects artist Greg Silverman (Black Swan), and editor, Corey Bayes (Haywire, Contagion, The Informant, Che). From storyline through production, Caterpillar is an ode to the creative process. This film is a must-see for anyone who has ever submitted to their imagination and felt transformed by an idea.
